This standard applies to small boxes, which must be available in companies, on construction sites or in schools and day-care centers, in order to provide the first aid at the scene of the accident. The latest valid version is DIN 13157 from 2009, which replaces the last revised standard in 1996. According to this rhy thm, a new DIN 13157 for the year 2017 is conceivable.

What changes does DIN 13157 contain?

· The application has been extended to schools and day-care facilities for children

· The content of the dressing box was adapted: cold instant compresses, dressing packs and the plaster assortment were expanded.

· Further "suitable" dressing containers may be used, as long as they have the same properties ( closability, tightness, no sharp corners, etc.).

· Boxes with the dimensions 25,5 x 16,6 x 8 cm (L x W x H) bear the designation "Association box DIN 13157 - C"; other containers are labeled "Contents DIN 13157". Both are approved by the legislature for application.

· Both variants must be marked with the appropriate inscription and the rescue sign ("First Aid Cross").
